Animating in Blender can be quite annoying sometimes, especially when you have to do repetitive operations like changing and editing actions for multiple rigs, rendering your animation or something incredibly tedious like changing bone constraints - it gets annoying. What I've done is packaged all these operations in one addon, so everything I've listed, and more are now just one-click operations.
Tools included in the addon:
- Action swapper/synchronizer - For animating the same action for any number of rigs. Useful in animating for game engines. Also remembers the frame range you set.
- Constraint swapper - Maintains world transforms and automatically keys necessary keyframes.
- Quick exporting - One-click batch exporting with export presets.
- Additional tools:
- Pose mode setter - Selects the rig and goes into pose mode (or all the rigs at the same time)
- Key selected bone on all actions - Key bone properties (location, rotation, scale, and child-of constraint influences) for all compatible actions
- Auto Keying (Pose mode) - Only enable auto keying if you are in pose mode. This prevents accidentally animating objects or anything that aren't bones.
-
Render - Rapidly get feedback on your animations with "Open after render" (Opens your viewport render in your files after it finished rendering). There's also a button to Render All Actions to render all actions, to show your client all your animations quickly!
+ You can now quickly interpolate your renders in one click - Auto Fit Frame Range - Tired of constantly changing your frame range to the last key in your timeline? This option continuously sets the frame range to the keys of your animation for you.
- Dope Sheet tools - Buttons for removing those pesky broken channels and scale keyframes if you don't need em'.
How to use:
-
Action synchronization
-
Constraint swapper - Just press "activate" on the constraint you want to be active, or "disable all" if you want no constraints to be active (will maintain global transforms and keyframe anything necessary).
-
Exporter - Export the current animation (all rigs will be exported separately) or export all the animations. All exports are automatically organized by the registered rig names. Create your own presets by clicking the "+" button.
Changelog:
- V1.0.5
- Fixed logic to ensure the base action of a registered rig doesn't change if you create a new action.
- Added a warning for framerate interpolation (Framerate interpolation uses "preview frame ranges" which allows the user to temporarily change the frame range of the animation without affecting the original frame range. This can cause interpolated animations to not be rendered correctly).
- Fixed more bugs.
- Performance improvements.
- V1.0.3 - 1.0.4
- More bug fixes regarding exporting, frame range remembering issues, etc.
- Action list will now show you if one of the actions don't have a fake user (which could cause the action to delete on closing the file).
- Interpolation settings now work quickly and correctly.
- General quality of life improvements.
- V1.0.2
- Added the ability to set the "Note" (text displayed when "Burn to image" is enabled in render settings) to the action currently being rendered. (Only works when using built in rendering operators)
- Various bug fixes and improvements.
- V1.0.1
- Added Dope Sheet tools (Delete scale channels, Delete error channels, Etc.).
- Added Automatic Frame Range fitting.
- Added "Options" tab.
- Improved world snapping for constraint swapping (Credit: Nik Bartlett. Check him out: Nik Bartlett!).
- Fixed minor bugs.
- V1.0.0 - Initial release
